Product Features

Standard & Flexible Tunnel Tip
The standard tip delivers fluid to the wound bed in a pulsating manner and enables the caregiver to get very close (1cm away) to the wound for maximum results. The flexible tunnel tip is inserted into tunnel wounds (fistulas), made of safe, soft PVC-free tubing with graduation marks.

Wound Irrigation Bags
Pulsar II™ offers a totally closed system by the use of irrigation bags designed for every part of the body — sacral/trunk/body and extremity/leg/arm — totally sealing off the wound for a leak-proof enclosed system. The bags contain granules that encapsulate and neutralize harmful bacteria such as MRSA, HIV, and Hepatitis, absorbing up to 5 litres of fluid.

Irrigator
Designed for peak performance with optimized pulse strength, frequency, and flow rate: Max pressure 15 PSI, high speed flow rate up to 1200 ML/M, low speed 600 ML/M. 15 PSI is the optimum pressure to remove non-viable tissue without harming viable tissue. No touch technique means less trauma for the patient.
How It Works
Selective Hydro Mechanical Debridement
Pulsar II™ delivers chosen solution to the wound in a pulsating manner that dislodges bacteria, non-viable tissue and debris from the wound bed. The selective hydro mechanical debridement rids the wound of devitalized tissue without disrupting the underlying healthy tissue.
Using internationally recognized pulse strength pressure of 15 PSI, it maximizes wound cleansing, avoids driving bacteria and bio-load further into the wound, and minimizes patient discomfort.

What to Expect
Day 1
Starts to reduce unpleasant smells. Removes in excess of 80% bio-load including biofilm, slough, exudate and necrotic tissue. Leaves a cleaner looking wound.
Day 2
Foul odour should abate. Again in excess of 80% of biofilm and bio-load is removed. First signs of the wound becoming uninstalled are apparent.
Day 3
Inflammation period is being pushed through and patient feels less pain. Often signs of granulation will be present enabling clinical decisions such as negative pressure, dressings, or skin graft.
